In partnership with the United Reformed Church, we offer two exciting programmes dedicated to helping Church leaders and Lay preachers to flourish in their churches and communities.
The Church Leadership Programme (CLP) is a year-long learning journey designed for lay and ordained leaders in URC churches and community contexts. It is delivered through a blend of online learning and three residential weekends held in Manchester.
CLP encourages you to explore reflective practice as a foundation for sustaining healthy leadership in ministry. It aims to deepen your theoretical and practical understandings of reflective practice, by engaging with a range of perspectives including theological, biblical, and psychological approaches.

The cost of the course in 2025/2026 was £1500/year. This is subject to change. Fees include accommodation at Luther King House and most meals during residential weekends (breakfast, lunch and dinner on the first day and breakfast and lunch on the second day). Travel costs are not included.

This course provides an exciting opportunity to deepen your faith through theological reflection, personal development and biblical study. We aim to help you develop your vocation as a Lay Preacher as well as your preaching and worship leading skills. Successful completion of the course leads to Assembly Accreditation as a Lay Preacher.
